01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

The Chill Out LLC in Cut Off, Louisiana, is a delightful takeout spot specializing in indulgent ice cream treats and creative frozen desserts that promise to refresh and satisfy at every visit. Nestled on W Main St, this charming establishment offers a diverse menu that creatively blends classic favorites with inventive twists, making it a must-visit for locals and travelers alike who crave something cool and delicious.

When you step into The Chill Out's world of flavors, you’re instantly drawn to their signature ice cream and Dole Whip creations. Imagine the Dubai Stuffed Strawberries — luscious hollowed strawberries generously filled with crunchy pistachios and delicate katifi pastry, drizzled with rich chocolate syrup. Each bite bursts with contrasting textures and vibrant taste profiles that tease the palate. For a more classic yet indulgent option, the Stuffed Chantilly Strawberries topped with whipped cream, fresh blueberries, blackberries, and a bride's dream of wedding cake condensed milk find the perfect balance of fruitiness and creaminess.

If shakes and malts are more your style, their $7.15 thick, velvety shakes are the kind that make you savor every sip, evoking childhood memories with every smooth mouthful. Or opt for a float at $9.10 — effervescent and delightfully nostalgic, paired perfectly with your favorite fountain drink choice from Coke to Red Cream Soda. Those in need of a caffeine kick will appreciate the Frozen Frappe, an expertly blended cappuccino with milk and whipped cream, offering both refreshment and a creamy, robust finish.

The Chill Out’s smoothies are a vibrant celebration of fresh flavors, from Wild Berry and Mango to the tropical Pina Colada, each served in a generous 16oz portion that feels like a sweet, healthy indulgence. Pair these with their thoughtfully priced drinks, such as fresh squeezed lemonade that’s a perfect balance of tart and sweet, and you’ve got a perfect combo to cool down on a hot Louisiana day.

The atmosphere here is casual and inviting, with friendly service that makes you feel genuinely welcomed. As many patrons have noted, the staff at The Chill Out’s service window are warm, attentive, and patient — always ready to answer questions and recommend favorites. Despite being a takeout-focused spot, there’s a vibrant energy from the smiles exchanged over the counter that adds to the experience.

Customer reviews echo a mixed but genuine picture: loyal fans sing praises of the juicy burgers and hearty fries that accompany their sweet treats, while others have wished for tweaks like better-toasted poboy bread. However, the unanimous love shines brightest on The Chill Out’s ice cream and specialty frozen concoctions, which customers describe as refreshing, high-quality, and delightfully flavorful. Whether it’s the pineapple Dole Whip that vanished before pictures could be taken or the Oreo blast and King Cake ice cream that transport you to dessert bliss, this spot is delivering memorable bites that leave a lasting impression.

For a quick, flavorful escape from the heat in Cut Off, The Chill Out LLC is a gem where innovative ice cream desserts and satisfying comfort offerings meet with genuine Southern hospitality. Whether you’re craving an indulgent treat, a classic milkshake, or a vibrant smoothie, this takeout spot will leave your taste buds dancing and your spirit lifted.

We ordered for seven. My cheeseburger poboy had soggy bread. For someone that hates soggy bread, this was unfortunate. The poboy wasn't toasted, this would had made my sandwich much better in my opinion. The poboy was larger than what I've received at other places in the area. The milkshakes are good but the special ice cream blasts are very overpriced. The menu is much larger than what I would expect for the size of the location. Try the roast beef Sunday or hamburger steak Sunday.

The ladies at the window were very sweet and attentive. I had a lot of questions and they were able to answer them all and get me exactly what I needed. I decided to get the King Cake ice cream and an Oreo blast, I also got a pineapple Dole Whip (forgot to get a picture before everybody in the car wanted some, it was soo delicious and quite refreshing) Great quality ice cream and great taste. Best place in town to go for a sweet treat!

Best juicy burger on the bayou! The fries with cheese and roast beef are best ordered with crispy fries and beef and cheese in containers so that you can share the large portion with someone! The cheese and beef with excellent gravy are packaged in 2 containers each with fries in the main container. This way when you get home, your fries are not soft and soggy! Of course, on any warm day of the year, this is the perfect place for a snowball! The variety of flavors and options for toppings is amazing. The people who work there are friendly and work quickly, but maintain the excellent quality and presentation of the food when there are rush periods like when school lets out. A great option for takeout for a group as the variety is beyond any other place around! I always order ahead for food that may take time to prepare so it will be ready when I drive up. I recommend the same or park your car in the front to place your order and wait either on the porch or in your car, the team who works there will let you know when to go get your hot food at the window and only use the drive through if ordering snow balls or things that are prepared for you quickly. It is just a common courtesy to do this and the drive through moves faster in rush times if you call ahead to order anything when you know the line will be long in the drive through. Be nice and call in your order and then go get it. You can always call ahead and if there is a line in the drive through, you can park in the front and walk the less than 30 passes to get your food and go home and eat it hot and fresh! Use the options available for ordering and pick up wisely and everyone will be happier as they go through their day. Keep their number in your contacts! I sure do!
